Days 29 and 30: Finishing Up the Week

Instagram Stories is still going strong! On Thursday, after a visit to the National Portrait Gallery, Chelsea and I got to go behind the scenes of a new exhibit, Resound: Bells of Ancient China with its curator, Keith Wilson.

Although still being installed, Keith showed us around the collection of 60 bells ranging in size and age. We even borrowed lights and a mic from Photo so it felt like shooting a movie. “Resound” opens October 14th in the Sackler Gallery. For more info on the exhibition, click here, and for more info on the bells themselves, click here.

Friday I sent out my usual listserv post, this one was a WordCamp US reminder, and then went down to Turquoise Mountain to film today’s IG stories. At lunch, I made my way over to the Hirshhorn for their weekly Friday gallery talks. This one was a painting conservator discussing her findings about Jean-Paul Riopelle’s “Large Triptych.” I knew nothing about the artist or painting conservation, so it was neat to learn more.
